After over six months of preparation by the GVHL team, we have successfully introduced the first dedicated air ambulance equipped helicopter into offshore India operations. The AW169 helicopter is equipped with lifesaving equipment and two stretchers, it is crewed by two pilots and supported by trained paramedics. The aircraft provides night medivac cover to our client’s offshore facilities.

January 2022

We are introducing a Work Based Competency Assessment (WBCA) program across the maintenance department at GVHL this year; starting in early February with an Observed Safety Assessment (OSA) workshop for 12 of our maintenance staff. These peer-to-peer assessments aim to understand the effectiveness of safety risk controls during the performance of a maintenance task. The output from an WBCA is effectively live safety data, which on review can be used to promote continuous improvement through the organization. GVHL are working with Grant Findlay of FP Management Systems Limited to introduce this valuable program to our suite of safety management tools.

GVHL becomes a member of HeliOffshore. The first helicopter operator in India to be a member of the global, safety-focused association for the offshore helicopter industry.

With representation from all sectors of the offshore industry, HeliOffshore is a global association focused on improving safety standards in the offshore helicopter industry. HeliOffshore provides a forum for collaborative exchange of information, member companies share best practice, championing continuous improvement of offshore helicopter operations globally.
